Youth Shooting Memorial Scholarship

This Scholarship was created by Michael, Bridget and Alex Powell for the benefit of youth shooters in South Carolina and Georgia to honor the memory of their son and brother who died in a car accident on June 25 2010 at the age of 15. The Powell's want to keep his memory alive and help other young men and women achieve their higher education goals.

Aaron Michael Powell, age 15, of Lowndesville, SC died suddenly on Friday, June 25, 2010. He was born July 26, 1994 at the Navel Hospital in Charleston, SC.

During his short life here on earth, Aaron enjoyed life immensely. It was the quality of the life he lived and not the quantity that will be remembered by all who knew this young man.

Aaron was an avid hunter, fisherman, and shotgun shooter. He truly loved the outdoors and he loved working on the family farm. Aaron was a hard worker who took pride in all things that he did.

Aaron was a rising 11th grader at Dixie High School.
He was a member of the national Beta Club, the Vice President of the FFA, and was an A-B Honor Student.
Aaron was also a member of the Abbeville County 4-H, the Rocky Knoll Sporting Clay Club, the Elbert County Gun Club, and the Elbert County ClayBuster Shotgun Team.
